Bulldogs Start Slow, But Defeat Archers

The Archers would outdo the Bulldogs in the first period, thanks to goals by Tyler Morris from Greg “The Chairman” Chierchie, then Jason Fischbach unassisted. On the back end, Tyler Armstrong was holding it down to keep the Bulldogs off the board, but Joseph Ursino did well to prevent the K-9 Unit from falling behind by more than two.

Riding Ursino’s play, the Bulldogs would halve their deficit and reward him with an early second period goal, Anthony Ursino from Jonathan Greenspan and Alidad “The Alligator” Mireskandari, but the play would be level after that, due to the Archers clogging the neutral zone. The Archers would be unable to make any inroads on the Bulldogs, and would instead be hit with an attack by Andrew “The Ox” Viox from Greenspan, which would square things at two, then the K-9 Unit leapfrogged the Danger Zoners and would go 3-2 ahead with The Alligator beating Armstrong five hole. After The Alligator scored, he would assist Arthur Farsian with a breakout pass down the right wing, which would bring the scoreline to 4-2, which would be the score going into the third period.

Joseph Ursino continued to backbone the Bulldogs, but an interference minor to Arthur Farsian would put them short handed. The Archers would pounce on their power play with a one-timer by Pete Sztankovits from The Chairman, to pull them to down one, but they would have their momentum halted when Farsian made up for his misdeed by assisting, along with Anthony Ursino, The Alligator’s second goal, and it was now 5-3. The Archers ratcheted up their attack, pulling Armstrong, then calling timeout, but they would be hit with a goal against when Steve Parry threw the puck down the ice from his own zone, which would make it 6-3, good for the final, and a Bulldogs win.

The Sponsor TBD Man of the Match Award was won by Joseph Ursino, whose goaltending ensured his team was never out of it, even when the Archers pressed, and Alidad “The Alligator” Mireskandari, who had 2G, 2A to lead the offense.
